DDS for JMS Programmers
Posted in TechBlog on January 17, 2011 by Angelo Corsaro
Next Thursday Jan the 27th I'll be running a Webcast titled "DDS for JMS Programmers". In this webcast, I'll start with a short refresher on data-centric publish/subscribe explaining how it differs from plain messaging (see this presentation for a good intro). Then I'll move into an overview of how JMS concepts and API can be mapped into DDS concepts and API. This mapping should make it possible for architects and programmers familiar with JMS to transition to DDS quickly and effectively.
Finally, I'll be providing some performance comparisons between OpenSplice DDS and Apache ActiveMQ. I'll post the code used to do the performance evaluation on this blog so that those interested in repeating the experiments will be able to do it in no time.
